Bison Herd On The Loose Near Hythe – UPDATED

UPDATE – According to Beaverlodge RCMP, three of the Bison are still unaccounted for and are believed to have roamed into the Valhalla area.

RCMP officers in Beaverlodge say they’re dealing with a herd of bison that are on the loose near Hythe.

According to police, they received the complaint about the animals at around 6:45 PM last night.

The owner of the animals was parked at the Husky in Hythe, when the side door of the trailer was worked loose by the livestock and they got out.

The mounties say that all 15 of the bison were dispersed in the Hythe area and they’re asking motorists to be aware that bison may be seen on the roads in the area.

They were last seen in the areas of Hwy 43 north of Hythe and also near Township Road 744 and Range Road 101.

Members of the public are cautioned not to approach these animals, and to instead call Beaverlodge RCMP.
