A Canadian author is coming to the High Prairie Municipal Library on April 25th. Jacqueline Guest, author of “Ghost Messages” and many other books, will be at the library from 6 P.M. to 7 P.M.. Guest is coming to the Peace Region as part of Cenovus’ Wordpower Tour, which sponsors authors to travel across Alberta to work in schools and give presentations in libraries. Guest’s presentation will focus on her book Ghost Messages, a historical fiction about the first transatlantic cable. Guest says she’s excited to spread enthusiasm about reading on Wednesday, and everyone is welcome to come check out the program.

Guest notes one of the things she’s most excited for is getting the kids in High Prairie excited about reading, and exposing them to new books. She explains this is the second time she’s come to the High Prairie Municipal Library, and says this time will be just as fun as the first. Guest adds there’s a cool prize at the end of the program for the best morse code decoders.

“It’s going to be fun, and it’s a great way to engage not just young readers, but also their parents… It’s an opportunity for young people and their parents to come out and talk about writing, talk about reading, and the excitement that lies between the pages every book out there, not just mine.”
