If you had plans to take your drivers test to upgrade your license you may have to put that on hold for a while. many of the provinces Driver Examiners are protesting the governments announcement that they will be taking over Examinations as of march 1st after 25 years on the current private system. Pete Llewellyn director of the Certified Driver Examiners Association (CDEA) says the government offered them $20,000 a year less than the current minimum and capping it at $67,000 a year, almost half what some examiners currently make. more than 80% of the examiners are expected not to show up to work over the next few weeks which could impact up to 1,000 road tests already scheduled.
