Three men from the Peace River Fire Department helped raise funds and awareness for muscular dystrophy in the region. Firefighters: Drew Keddie, Jamie Green and Tim Berger camped on the roof of Tim Hortons this past Friday and Saturday for 24 hours. Keddie says with temperatures around the minus 20 range, it was his coldest year in his three years of participating in the fundraiser. “It was minus 23 on Saturday morning with the wind chill when we woke up. But it’s for a great cause and we are happy to be up here.”

Firefighters and volunteers braved the cold weather as well collecting donations from customers. There is no word yet on how much money was raised.
