Listen To Your Parents

Remember the last time your parents tried to tell you something, and you weren’t really interested in hearing what they have to say? Maybe they were trying to offer you advice, or simply make a bit of a suggestion? Either way, you may have shrugged it off or even thought nothing of it at all. Well, what happened to me recently is proof that you should always at least hear this advice out!

So, I’m still a little sick. I came down with something over the weekend, and it’s still putting up a fight heading into this week. Now, I hate being sick. Like, hate it with a passion, hate being sick. Naturally, I want to not be sick and get back to living life like a normal, not sick individual.

Almost out of nowhere, I remembered something my aunt once told me. Sweat it out. When you’re sick and stuffed up, sweat it out. I thought, “that’s so crazy, it just might work!”

Cue the heat!

I’m hot, sweating and slightly uncomfortable. That being said, my sinuses started clearing up! After half a dozen Kleenex, three cups of tea and a whole lot of water, I felt like I could breathe through my nose again! I was so relieved!

This was short lived, mind you. Some time later, I went back to feeling very stuffed up, but in the moment… I was on top of the world.

It goes to show, your parents know a thing or two about a thing or two. The next time they share some advice or offer a suggestion, listen up! It’s valuable information. They’ve been there before, and they’re in it for your best purpose. So, give them a call and tell them you love ’em!

What was one memorable piece of advice your parents passed on to you?
