Peace River Bantam AA Sabres Taking Donations for Toys for Tots & Food Bank This Weekend

The Peace River Bantam AA Fountain Tire Sabres are collecting donations during their home games coming up this weekend at the Baytex Energy Centre.

Head Coach Shawn Dickie told the Trending 55 Newsroom that during their game on Friday, November 24, 2017 against the St. Albert Blues, they’ll be collecting items for our Toys-for-Tots program.

“We wanted to help out with the community that’s given so much to us,” said Dickie. “Anyone who brings in a gift will get a raffle ticket, and we’ll have raffles throughout the game for a change to win a prize.

“For Sunday’s game (against Edmonton’s SSAC Alberta Sportswear),” he continued. “We’re going to be doing a Food Bank drive. And again, anyone who brings in a donation will get a raffle ticket to possibly win one of various draws throughout the game.”

The prizes will be gift cards to Mr. Mike’s, worth about $50 each.

Dickie says that the team is all behind this 100 percent.

“The players, as well as the parents, are all on board with this,” he said. “With the support we get every year with the community, as well as our company sponsors, we just wanted to give back by doing this.”

Friday’s game goes at 6:45 PM; On Sunday, the puck drops at 11:45 AM.
