Town council member Orren Ford has been named a member of the Alberta Community Crime Prevention Association (ACCPA). The ACCPA  plays a big role in  communication surrouding the program, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), which Ford has been working on. Ford has been a part of the town of Peace River’s strategic plan regarding crime reduction. He traveled to Calgary to take part in the association’s annual general meeting and became a member of the provincial board.

Ford is one of the few people in Northern Alberta that has a seat on the board, most of the board members are from Southern Alberta. The other representatives from Northern Alberta include a seat from Fort McMurray and Edmonton, respectively.

Ford says he is very fortunate to bring information to them about what is happening in Peace River and Northern Alberta and to be able to bring information back to our region.
