On Sunday September 16th, people from Peace River and Grimshaw came together to take part in this year’s Terry Fox Runs in their respective communities.

Peace River had a total of 8 runners and 6 volunteers participate and the community raised about 500 dollars. This year had newcomers and dedicated residents take part.  Peggy Pike, a spokesperson for Peace River’s Terry Fox Run, says “one participant was from Australia and 3 others were recent immigrants who had actually run Terry Fox Runs overseas and wanted to continue to do the runs here in Canada.”

Pike believes that the lower turnout this year  may have had to do with the  cooler weather and the fact that the event fell on the same weekend as Miserable Miles.

In Grimshaw, a total of 44 participants came together and the community  raised $6170.
