Northern Lakes College is pleased to announce the approval of the disposition of its Grouard Campus to Kapawe’no First Nation, authorized by a Ministerial Order from the Government of Alberta.
This decision aligns with the Real Property Governance Act, 2024, and the Post-secondary Learning Act.
Since August 2021, Kapawe’no First Nation has co-located its K-12 school at the Grouard Campus, leading to significant growth in programming and enrollment.
The Board of Governors views this approval as a step toward understanding and reconciliation, emphasizing the commitment to providing accessible educational opportunities to the Nation and surrounding communities.
Northern Lakes College will maintain its presence in Grouard, continuing to offer educational programs linked to its early years.
