Faust RCMP advises of heavy police presence – Update #3
Kinuso, Alta. – Following the July 11, 2025, arrest related to this investigation, Alberta RCMP Major crimes unit has charged Anthony Knott (42), a resident of Edmonton, with 2nd degree murder. He was brought before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody. He is to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Slave Lake on July 16, 2025.
Faust RCMP advises of heavy police presence – Update #2
Kinuso, Alta. – On July 11, 2025, Faust RCMP was called in to assist Lakeshore Regional Police Service with an active shooting. Faust RCMP responded and, once a murder was confirmed, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called in and took carriage of the investigation. The suspect was quickly located, contained and arrested. The victim, who was identified as Randy Courteoreille (34), a resident of Swan River First Nation, was known to the suspect.
The Alberta RCMP sends their condolences to the family and friends of the victim.
An update is anticipated once information is laid.
Faust RCMP advises of heavy police presence
Kinuso, Alta. – Faust RCMP would like to advise the public of a heavy police presence in Kinuso. Members of the public who come in sight of a heavy police presence are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while police respond. The public is asked to please not to post pictures of responding officers to social media until after the situation is resolved.
An update will be sent once the situation is resolved or more information becomes available.
