- The MD of Greenview has supplied more Grant money, this time to the Little Smoky Community Center.
$120,000 is earmarked for enhancing the Baseball Diamond, a new generator, and upgrades to the playground. - The MD of Peace has released results from a recent public engagement session focused on nuclear energy and its potential in the Peace Region.
The session last month, aimed to inform residents about nuclear energy, address concerns, and gather public opinion. - A new Truth and Reconciliation Crosswalk has been painted, on 98th St. and River Road in Downtown Peace River.
The creation is space for healing, conversation, and acknowledgement of the Residential School history. (Judy Ducharme interview in separate story) - The Ag. Society’s Mud Bogs happen Saturday at Sunday at the Northern Sunrise Fairgrounds.
In addition, Bouncy Castles, a Money Pit, Food Trucks, and a 50/50 draw is also present. Camping is available as well. - MLAs Scott Sinclair and Peter Guthrie will join the Alberta Party and file to rename it the Progressive Conservatives, and they’ll abandon initial plans to launch a new party under the old brand that ruled Alberta for 44 years.
- The Wheatbelt Baseball League has released their schedule for the final series.
Peace River plays in Rycroft on Monday for Game 1, but Game 2 isn’t until Wednesday August 6th.
The Rage and the Stampeders are meeting in the final for the second time in three seasons. - CFL this weekend… Edmonton is in Saskatchewan tonight. Winnipeg is in Toronto tomorrow. Hamilton is in BC on Sunday.
- The red-hot Toronto Blue Jays continue their four-game weekend set in Detroit tonight. Jose Berrios starts for the Jays against Keider Montero.
- Rain will be the order of the day at times in the Northwest this afternoon. Temps remain comfortabl;e at around 20 degrees, with lows tonight around 10.
Skies will clear off this weekend, and get warmer next week, possibly hitting 30 by Tuesday.
