Due to ongoing hot and dry weather conditions and increased water consumption, Stage 2 Water Rationing will remain in effect for La Crete throughout the summer.
Residents are permitted to water outdoors between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m., and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., with even-numbered addresses watering on even days and odd-numbered addresses on odd days.
Vegetable gardens and flowerbeds may be watered by hand at any time using a watering can or a hose equipped with a trigger shutoff nozzle.
Additionally, the La Crete Water Treatment Plant and the Buffalo Head Prairie Rural Truck Fill Station may be reduced to one lane.
Mackenzie County is actively researching both short- and long-term solutions, including potential upgrades to the La Crete Water Treatment Plant.
