Update – Monday (6am)
Investigations are continuing into the fire that had departments busy on Friday afternoon.
Reports indicate it was a multi-vehicle blaze at the scrapcar yard near All Peace Transport, and Complete Repair Services, just east of the Airport.
Crews were able to contain the inferno within a few hours, where no buildings were damaged, and no injuries were sustained.
BACKGROUND
Firefighters are tending to a structure Fire on Peace River’s West side, near the Airport.
The blaze is in the area of All Peace Transport, and Complete Repair Services on Hwy 2 at Range Road 223.
Crews from Peace River, Northern Sunrise County, Grimshaw, plus other resources are on-scene.
Authorities are asking motorists to keep driving, not clog up traffic on Highway 2, and to avoid posting on Social Media.
Crews are expected to be on-scene for the next few hours…
