Mark your calendars for some happening in the local sports area of Peace River for this Friday (September 12).
Peace River Minor Football is hosting a fundraising BBQ, as a celebration for the unveiling of a new scoreboard at Glenmary School.
Fun, food, and the community will be celebrated with games and activities for the kids.
Funds go to the football program, which starts at 5pm.
Meanwhile, the North Peace Navigators are celebrating the opening of the 2026 NWJHL season with a tailgate party.
Games, music, food and merchandise are on-hand, starting at 6:30 at the Baytex Energy Center.
The Navs play Fort St. John at 8:00 in the opening games of the season.
