On September 7, 2025, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a shoplifting incident on 101 Avenue in Peace River.

Surveillance footage identified 23-year-old local resident Tanner Hatter leaving the premises with stolen items.

Shortly after the report, Hatter was located, arrested, and charged with theft under $5,000.

He appeared before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded with a court date set for October 10, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.

The RCMP expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance in identifying and locating Hatter, emphasizing that such tips are often vital to the strength of evidence presented in court.

They continue to seek the public’s help in reporting any crimes or suspicious activities in the area.
