The North Peace Navigators are ready to begin another season in the NWJHL.

Head Coach and GM Jody Menssa says they’re looking to be very deep at forward with a number of returning players and some new additions.

“We’re looking forward to seeing the new makeup with integrating the new people into the lineup with the returning guys to see different line combinations and those things. It’s kind of exciting to see how guys are working together with different people each night so far and it’s coming together quite well I think.”

With some of the new guys that have been brought in, Menssa says they’ve got a more faster paced lineup for this season.

“There’s some fast hockey players for sure and they’re able to not just skate fast but play fast. Hopefully we can continue that type of play because it is exciting.”

The Navs last season finished in second place in the East-West division, but lost in the first round of the playoffs to Dawson Creek.

The Navs will take on the Fort St. John Huskies in their home opener tomorrow night at the Baytex Energy Centre, with a special fan tailgate party happening before hand.
