  1. Residents in Peace River are going to have to keep waiting little longer for the rehabilitation work on the old bridge to finally be finished. (Dan Williams interview in separate story)
  2. The Northern Lakes College campus in High Prairie has begun construction on a new student residence building.
  3. Peace River Town Council has approved a new Industrial and Commercial Tax Incentive Bylaw, aimed at encouraging business growth and revitalizing underused commercial areas.
    Council has also approved Development Permit Application to the Redevelopment of the old Lion’s Campground, now owned by Peace River Adventures.
  4. The town of Grimshaw has approved the purchase of a new boiler for the Outdoor pool.
  5. At this point, nearly 40% of the Harvest is complete in the Northwest, which is almost twice as fast as the five-year average.
  6. Fuel Good Day is tomorrow at Peace Country Co-op, where proceeds are going to Beyond the Heart Clubhouse in Peace River.
  7. Football Alberta has their latest Provincial rankings for this week. Peace River is Ranked #1 after their 41-12 win in High Prairie last week.
    Meanwhile, the Bantam Peace River Prospectors are 0-2 to start the season, after a 42-8 loss to Sexsmith last week.
  8. The Toronto Blue Jays start a four-game set in Tampa Bay tonight. Trey Yesavage makes his MLB Debut, and starts for the Jays against Joe Boyle.
  9. The NFL Monday-nighter is two games. Tampa Bay is in Houston, and the LA Chargers are in Vegas, against the Raiders.
  10. Sunshine-a-plenty in the Peace and Big Lakes today, with a chance of showers happening in the Mackenzie.
    Highs this afternoon are between 15 and 20 degrees, with lows around 5. Skies will remain, or become clear tomorrow, and will last for the rest of this week.
