Warm and dry conditions across Alberta have accelerated harvest operations, with major crops now 59% complete—up 20% from the previous week and surpassing the five- and ten-year averages of 52% and 41%, respectively.

In the Peace Region, harvest 61% complete, significantly above the five-year average of 42%.

Dry peas are nearly finished at 96%, spring wheat at 76%, barley at 74%, oats at 57%, and canola at 43% combined.

However, the lack of precipitation has led to low soil moisture and pasture conditions.

Soil moisture is rated 15% poor, 52% fair, and 34% good, with no areas rated excellent or excessive.
Pasture conditions are 23% poor, 51% fair, and 26% good, with no excellent ratings.

Farmers are hopeful that the favorable weather will continue, allowing for the timely completion of the harvest season.
