On October 18, 2025, at approximately 6:30 AM, Peace Regional RCMP responded to a home alarm indicating a break and enter on 102 Street in Peace River.

While en route, officers detained 33-year-old Peace River resident Dwayne Gabriel Sawan, matching the suspect’s description.

Surveillance footage confirmed Sawan’s involvement, leading to his arrest for break and enter.

He was remanded in custody with a court date set for October 20 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.

Later that day, RCMP identified the second suspect as 46-year-old Draper Nelson Laboucan from Cadotte Lake, Alberta.

During proactive patrols, officers spotted Laboucan near 90 Avenue in Peace River.

Upon attempting to stop him, Laboucan fled on foot, eventually climbing onto a building roof on 94 Street to evade capture.

Officers successfully coaxed him down, arresting him for break and enter and resisting arrest.

Laboucan was also remanded with a court date on October 20 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.
