Remembrance Day Ceremonies Across the Region

Communities across the region will come together tomorrow (Tuesday, November 11) to honour those who have served and continue to serve in Canada’s armed forces. Ceremonies and community gatherings are planned throughout the Peace and Mackenzie, including…

In Peace River, the ceremony will take place at TA Norris Middle School. Doors open at 9:30 a.m., with the service beginning at 10:30 a.m. A lunch will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion.

Nampa hosts its Remembrance Day Service at the Nampa Complex. Doors open at 10:30am. Ceremony starts at 10:45am.

The Grimshaw Legion will host its service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch at 1 p.m.

In Fairview, the Remembrance Day parade will start from the Fairview Arena at 10:10 a.m., leading into the community ceremony. Coffee and donuts will be served afterward, and a potluck supper and silent auction will be held at 6 p.m. at the Legion.

The High Prairie Legion will hold its ceremony at 10:45 a.m., followed by a light lunch.

In McLennan, the ceremony will take place at the Elks Hall at 10:30 a.m., with a supper by donation at 6 p.m. at the Legion.

Valleyview’s ceremony will be held at Memorial Hall. Doors open at 10:15 a.m., and the service begins at 10:45 a.m.

In High Level, the community will gather at the High Level Public School Gymnasium for a ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m.

Residents are encouraged to wear a poppy and pause for a moment of silence at 11 a.m. to honour and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for peace and freedom.
