On December 10 2025, in Fairview court, Malcolm Henry Testawits, of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to over six charges, including assaulting a peace officer, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and possession of a prohibited firearm.

These charges stem from a September 25 arrest, during which RCMP apprehended Testawits and another suspect after a vehicle pursuit involving a stolen car from Peace River.

Testawits received a 29-month jail sentence, with 115 days credited for time served.

Eight other counts were withdrawn.

The second suspect, Amy Lee Lacosse, also of no fixed address, is scheduled for trial in March.
