Three individuals charged with the 2023 murder of Aaron Bellcourt at Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation are set to appear in Grande Prairie Court of King’s Bench on January 12, 2026.
Sara Dawn Aleisha Kappo, 35; Teyanna Angel Rae Kappo, 30; and Dallas Goodswimmer, 23, both of Valleyview, were arrested on May 24, 2024, and charged with first-degree murder.
The charges stem from a November 8, 2023, incident where Valleyview RCMP responded to reports of a man with serious lacerations following an assault.
The victim, 36-year-old Aaron Bellcourt, later died in hospital.
After a preliminary hearing in late November 2025, all three were ordered to stand trial.
