Nominations are now open for the 2025 Grande Prairie Subaru Sports Excellence Awards, which celebrate the achievements of amateur athletes and the many individuals and organizations who support sport across the region.
The awards recognize accomplishments from January 1 to December 31, 2025, and cover Alberta’s Northwest Region—from Fox Creek to Slave Lake, to near the B.C. and Northwest Territories borders.
In addition to athlete honours, the awards acknowledge the contributions of coaches, volunteers, officials, sport leaders, and corporations who help make sport possible at all levels.
Categories open for nomination include Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, and Official of the Year, along with long-term achievement honours such as Sport Builder and Unsung Hero. The program also includes the prestigious Sport Excellence Award.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 27.
Anyone who knows an individual or organization deserving of recognition for an exceptional year—or a lifetime of dedication to sport—is encouraged to submit a nomination. The nomination deadline is January 31.
