Alberta Justice has scheduled a preliminary hearing for Rodney Derek Nahachick of Atikameg First Nation, set for December 7 to 11,2026, in High Prairie court.
Nahachick, along with a youth who was 15 at the time, was arrested on July 25, 2025, in connection with the death of 26-year-old Christian Mitchell on December 20, 2024.
High Prairie RCMP had discovered Mitchell’s body in a wooded area in Atikameg, noting suspicious injuries.
Both Nahachick and the youth are charged with second-degree murder.
