  1. One person is dead following a bus accident on Hwy 43, west of DeBolt on Saturday night.
  2. The Peace region could be seeing the Military pass through the neighborhood over the next few days.
    Equipment and personnel are being shipped from Edmonton to Yellowknife, in preparation for winter training.
  3. The town of Peace River are setting up their policing committee.
    Community members will join Town Council, Administration and the RCMP to identify policing priorities, and to address safety concerns.
  4. The Peace River Business Community was honoured over the weekend, with the presentation of the 2026 Davis Business Awards.
  5. The Winter Olympics continue in Milan and Cortina D’Ampezzo Italy.
    Canada continues, as they have two bronze medals in their haul.
    One on the weekend, with Quebec’s Valarie Maltais in 3000-metre Speed Skating,
    And one this morning with Ontario’s Megan Oldham in Women’s Slopestyle skiing.
  6. The women’s hockey team plays at 1:00 this afternoon against Czechia.
  7. Lots of Sunshine but a little chilly starting this week in the Northwest.
    Highs this afternoon are -7 in the Peace, -16 in the Mackenzie, and -1 in the Big Lakes.
    The sunshine continues and the digits get warmer, as the week rolls along.
