Since the summer of 2025, numerous businesses across Alberta have fallen victim to currency transactions.
The Alberta RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section traced some these counterfeit bills in Montreal.
Collaborating with the Service de Police de la Ville de (SPVM), the Grande Prairie RCMP General Investigation Section coordinated search warrant executed on March 13 2026 at a residence.
This operation led to the arrest of two individuals and the seizure $750 in currency, $16,200 in counterfeit $50 and $100 bills, three fake devices, holographic stickers for counterfeit money, four fraudulent cards, and a device for stealing cars.
Charges are pending analysis of the evidence, with potential offenses including making counterfeit money, possession of counterfeit money, and counterfeit.
No court date has been set at time.
