
A tragic crash north of Edmonton has claimed two lives. On May 3rd, around 3 p.m., Slave Lake RCMP responded to a fatal collision on Highway 2, just south of Slave Lake. Police say an initial investigation suggests one vehicle crossed the center line into oncoming traffic, leading to a head-on crash.
A 58-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman, both from Slave Lake, were pronounced dead at the scene. Occupants of the other vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries. Highway 2 remained closed for several hours as crews investigated.
RCMP continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision and are offering condolences to the victims’ family and friends.
