Six years after the suspicious death of a Grande Prairie woman, RCMP have made an arrest.
Alberta RCMP Major Crimes say 29-year-old Mackenzie County resident Amadeus Laforce was arrested on July 3rd and charged with second-degree murder in the death of 23-year-old Cheyenne Omeasoo.
Omeasoo was found dead in her residence at Mountainview Manor on August 11th, 2020. Her death was reported to RCMP shortly after 11:15 that night, and investigators had appealed to the public for information about any suspicious activity in the area between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m.
Police obtained an arrest warrant on June 25th. Laforce appeared before a justice of the peace and was remanded into custody. He’s scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Grande Prairie on July 6th.
