The Peace Region has a Stanley Cup Champion.
Nicholas Aube-Kubel was born in Slave Lake, and was part of the Colorado Avalanche, who won the Cup on the weekend.
Gramlich says the odds of Lord Stanley being in Slave Lake during Aube-Kubel’s Day with the Cup are slim, because he moved to Quebec at a young age.
Unfortunately, Aube-Kubel will be noted for denting the Cup, after he tripped on the ice, just before the team photo in Tampa Bay.
