Residents in Northern Sunrise County will soon have a chance to clean up their properties free of charge.
The Peace Regional Waste Management Company, in partnership with Northern Sunrise County, is hosting its annual Spring Cleanup from May 4th to May 16th at the East Peace Regional Landfill.
During the cleanup period, landfill hours will run Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and it will be closed on Sundays. All fees for county residents will be waived on chargeable waste, making it easier to dispose of unwanted items.
Officials note the program is intended for residential use only, not for commercial businesses. Transfer stations will continue operating under their regular hours, but fees at those locations have been eliminated effective immediately.
Residents are reminded to tarp all loads during transport to prevent littering and help keep the county clean.
