Renovations are getting underway next week at the building housing the Lakeshore Regional Police Service in Driftpile.

Mike Evans, Executive Director of the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council, says all of the prep work for the project has now been completed, with crews ready to begin the expansion phase.

Evans says the upgrades are needed to better support the growing demands of the service and the community it serves. He adds partnerships involved in the project have helped move procedures along smoothly, while contributions from those involved are being made proudly.

Despite construction beginning next week, Evans says it will still be business as usual for the police service throughout the renovation period.

He adds there is already excitement building around the finished product and what the improvements will mean for the future of policing in the region.

The Executive Director of the Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council, is Mike Evans.
