Grande Prairie Woman Facing Numerous Theft Charges

A Grande Prairie woman appeared in court today.

29-year-old Maygan Fehr is facing numerous charges, including five counts of Possession of Stolen Property, one count of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, and six counts of Breach of Recognizance.

RCMP conducted a traffic stop on July 6, 2017, after they noticed a vehicle without its lights on. Police continued to follow the vehicle from a distance, and determined that the vehicle was, in fact, stolen.

Officers stopped the vehicle at around 94th Avenue, where they arrested the female driver.

After a search of the vehicle, Mounties were able to recover more stolen property stemming from previous occurrences. They also found a weapon in arms reach of the driver.

Fehr is also charged with operating a motor vehicle without holding a subsisting operator’s licence under the Traffic Safety Act.

The stolen items are in the process of being returned to their rightful owners.

Anyone with any information in regards to this incident is asked to call Grande Prairie RCMP at 780-830-5700.
