Eight people are in custody after RCMP in the High Prairie area carried out a trio of drug busts earlier this month.
On Thursday, September 14, 2017, Mounties searched a home in High Prairie. They arrested four people for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Cannabis.
The next day, they conducted a traffic stop on Kapaweno First Nation. It led to the arrest of two more people for Possession of Cannabis. But, upon further investigation, police found 72 grams of Cocaine, various drug paraphernalia, as well as $640 in cash. Charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine were added to the two suspects.
And then, during the morning of Thursday, September 21, RCMP conducted another traffic stop in the area, and it was determined that cannabis was present inside the vehicle. Both people inside were arrested, and charged with Possession of Cannabis. As well, further investigation and search of the vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 66 grams of Cannabis for the Purpose of Trafficking, as well as nine grams of Magic Mushrooms.
