
On January 19, Alberta Health Services confirmed 456 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 117,767.
17 people passed away, which means 1,463 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.
In the North Zone, there are 9,303 cases of COVID-19 and 90 people have passed away.
There are currently 1,499 active cases in our zone with 134 in Big Lakes County, 87 in the MD of Greenview, 69 in the MD of Peace, 41 in Northern Sunrise County, 26 in Mackenzie County, six in the MD of Smoky River while all other jurisdictions in our area have two or less active cases.
AHS is reporting that 105,208 people have recovered from the virus.
This means that there are currently 11,096 active cases across Alberta.
Outbreaks have been declared at the following facilities:
- High Prairie Health Complex
- Peace River Correctional Centre
To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
