
****RCMP RELEASE**** Keg River, Alta
On Aug. 6, 2021 at approximately 12:15 p.m., High Level RCMP were on patrol, along Highway 695, approximately 15 kilometers west of Highway 35, when officers observed a female signaling for help.
Preliminary investigation suggests the driver of an off-highway vehicle (OHV) braked for a deer, which caused the driver to be thrown from an OHV onto the highway, while the OHV and female passenger ended up in the ditch. The 22-year-old male driver, of Paddle Prairie, Alta., succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased on scene by EMS. The 23-year-old female passenger, of Keg River, Alta., was transported via AHS ground ambulance to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
