The provincial government is investing in public services and aiding non-profits through the Community Facility Enhancement Program.
Two societies in the Peace Region will be benefiting from CFEP, that provides matching funding to help non-profits leverage other sources of funding to acquire, build, upgrade or develop public-use facilities.
The Nampa and District Historical Society is receiving $25,000 in funding towards upgrades to the Nampa and District Museum and the Mackenzie Ski Hill Society is receiving $500,000 in funding towards site construction at the Mackenzie Ski Hill.
Peace River MLA, Dan Williams released a statement with the announcement of grant funding coming to his localities saying, “Learning and recreation are both vital to our personal growth. It is important to promote the organizations that allow us to pursue development in these areas. This is why I am pleased that both the Nampa and District Historical Society and the Mackenzie Ski Hill Society are receiving funding that will help them promote wellness of all kinds in our communities.”
The Mackenzie Ski Hill is currently being built near La Crete in the Buffalo Head Hills area and started operating this season on January 22, 2022.
