Recognition of the past couple of years was the theme of the Fireman’s Ball in High Level.
Among recipients were:
Destiny Corcilles-Herring named as Rookie of the year
Colin Moore as Officer of the year
Rylan Lemoal as firefighter of the year, and
Five-year Service awards to Leslie Bateman, Josh Lambert, and Terry Clark.
Says High Level Mayor Crystal McAteer, “I’m honoured to share this evening with you. The Town of High Level is very fortunate to have such a passionate fire chief and a next-to-none group of highly trained and dedicated volunteers.”
Says High Level CAO Clark McAskile, “High Level has worked hard to protect our people and our businesses, and few have been tasked as have as the members of the HLFD. You stood at the front line, continuing to protect and serve the Town of High Level and its surrounding region and communities.”
Says Fire Chief Rodney Schmidt, “When things go bad in our community, you are the people that help make order out of chaos. You are the backstop! Without you, our community would not be what it is today. I thank you for your service, your efforts, and helping us make this department what it is today.”
