The Emergency Department at the hospital in High Prairie is closed until 8:00 Friday morning.
The announcement was made by Alberta Health Services, due to a doctor’s shortage.
Nursing staff remains on-site, while critical referrals are being re-routed to neighboring communities.
Public response has been widespread against Alberta Health Services for the shortage.
