With the weather getting colder, devices to heat homes will require a few extra steps.
Residents of Mackenzie county will need to apply for a building permit, before they can install a wood stove, wood furnace, or any other type of fuel-burning appliance.
This permit ensures that the owner and installer are aware of the requirements, set by the National building code.
The requirements are in place to make sure the appliance is installed safely.
