Grimshaw RCMP respond to firearms complaint advise residents to shelter in place – Update #3 

Grimshaw, Alta. – On May 3, 2023, Grimshaw RCMP received a report of a male with a firearm making threats in a rural area near Grimshaw. The suspect was last seen on foot. RCMP began their search and alerted residents to the danger by advising to shelter in place. Officers from Peace River, Grande Prairie, High Prairie, and Mclennan Detachments including Police Dog Services and Crime Reduction Unit were dispatched. The RCMP Police Dog was successful in tracking the suspect and he was taken into custody.  As a result of the subsequent investigation, RCMP have charged 26-year-old Hayes Dale Robert Fuller-Garand of no fixed address with:

·         Assault

·         Assault with a weapon causing bodily harm

·         Forcible confinement

·         Possession of a weapon contrary to order (x2)

·         Mischief

·         Breaking and Entering

·         Indecent Communication

·         Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Fuller-Garand was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for May 8, 2023, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River.
