School closures due to wildfires update
We have some updated information to share on how wildfires are impacting Northland schools.
Gift Lake School will be closed on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
The community is still under an evacuation alert.
At this time, Grouard Northland School will be open Thursday, May 18, 2023. If anything changes, we will provide an update on the Grouard Northland School Facebook page and thru our emergency notification system School Messenger.
Susa Creek School will be closed for the remainder of this week due to the air quality in the community.
Hillview School will remain closed. The community is still under a mandatory evacuation order. Paper homework packages and chromebooks are available for pickup at the Peavine Inn, Days Inn and the Lion’s RV park by Tim Hortons. Online learning started Tuesday May 16, 2023. If families have any questions, please email Principal Rosalind Best at rosalind.best@nsd61.ca.
