Woodland Members,
Please be advised there has been a picture circulating with the fire across the lake.
Our forestry, Chief and Council, DEM Wayne Eldridge and Emergency Management team are well aware and update us consistently throughout the day. There is a lot of hands working 24/7 to monitor the fires (including plenty of flyovers, weather indicators, and crews updating the most accurate information)
It is still not an immediate threat, we have been monitoring it very closely, with the change in weather, wind all this is taken into account.
The fire is still approximately 30km away from the other side of the lake, and over the last few days there has been no significant growth.
If there is to be an evacuation we have alerts set up with Alberta , you will get an alert on your phone, radio and tv.
We will also go house to house if there were to be an evacuation with notice.
It’s is important for you to remain alert, and have your emergency kit ready (including personal documents, ID, and prescription medications).
