Heavy smoke throughout the county today made for a more difficult task for the air and ground crews.
On the east end of the fire, there was movement south of Highway 64; within the vicinity of Range Road 70-65 and Township Road 844. With the wind blowing from the south the fire found some new fuel and burnt north towards highway 64; however, ground crews and air crews effectively managed to control them about 3km from highway 64.
Highway 64 has been reopened. However, we urge drivers to exercise caution as the smoke may cause reduced visibility, and crews are actively working in the area.
