UPDATE

Peace River, Alta. – On Jan. 17, 2024, the stolen truck and tools have now been recovered in the area of Highway 986 and Township Road 852.

The Peace Regional RCMP are still actively investigating this event and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect(s) and the black truck seen with the stolen vehicle. Peace Regional RCMP seek public assistance in break and enter and theft of motor vehicle

Peace River, Alta. – On Jan. 15, 2024, Peace Regional RCMP responded to reports of a break and enter to a business in the area of 107 Ave in Peace River.

Surveillance was obtained which shows a black truck in the area before an individual entered the business’ yard, stealing a large quantity of work tools as well as a custom picker truck which was rammed through the gate ultimately leaving with the black truck around 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2023.

The black truck is described as a newer dark GMC Sierra, extended cab with a large object.

The stolen truck is described as a white 2012 GMC Sierra, extended cab with a custom picker deck, the WEAVER logo on the drivers and passenger door, with a unit number of 138 over the front wheel wells (the picture provided is of an identical looking unit for reference).

The stolen vehicle, suspect driver and associated black truck were later spotted in the area of Range Road 215 in Peace River where they obtained a small amount of fuel for the vehicle.

The investigation indicates that the suspect was potentially heading to the area of Grande Prairie.
