January 27, 2025 Blog, Jared, Movie Monday Mentions

This movie suprised me. I didn’t have too high of expectations going in. All I knew was Mark Whalberg was on a plane… now if you have seen the triler you would know that he is actually the villain of the film. He poses as a pilot to try and kill the other two characters on this small passenger plane.

We follow an agent as she is trying to escort a witness from remote Alaska back to the city so he can testify and get a crime boss put behind bars. The only way to get to where they need to is by plane and since their in Alaska, options are limited. What seems as though to be a simple job ends up being quite the expereince.

I thought the writing was really well done it takes place mostly on this small plane and they use that to tell a great story. With a small cast and limited environments, they use the full 91-minute runtime to their advantage. I was on the edge of my seat for every plot twist and when they had restrained the villain, it was so tense to see him inevitably break free. It can be hard sometimes for movies to get you invested in the characters but since there were only like 6 characters I thought each one had its place even if we only really hear some over the phone.

If your looking for something interesting and a little different than what’s been in theatres recently I think Flight Risk is definitely worth giving a watch. If you want more info check out the trailer below!
