Juliette’s Place in Downtown Peace River nearing clean-up

peace-river-jpg-8

The cleanup of Juliette’s Place, the fire-damaged building in downtown Peace River, has been delayed due to a formal tax recovery process mandated by Alberta law.

Following the September 2021 fire, the property entered this multi-step procedure, which includes official notices, waiting periods, and opportunities for the owner to pay arrears or reclaim the property.

These timelines are legally required and cannot be shortened.

The good news is that this process is nearly complete.

Once the Town officially takes ownership, an Expression of Interest will be issued to clean up and redevelop the site.

The Town appreciates everyone’s patience as they work through these legal steps to bring this important downtown property back into productive use.
