
The Alberta government has announced $114.6 million in funding for 86 infrastructure projects across the province, with over $17.6 million allocated to 14 projects in the Peace Region.
Saddle Hills County will receive approximately $12.8 million for Phase 3 of its Raw Water Storage and Supply project under the Water for Life program, contributing to the project’s total cost of just over $26 million.
Additional funding includes culvert replacement grants:
– County of Grande Prairie: $397,500
– Northern Sunrise County: $375,000
– MD of Smoky River: two grants totaling $663,000
Bridge replacement projects will see the County of Grande Prairie receiving $855,000 and Mackenzie County $867,000.
Northern Sunrise County is also allocated $763,000 for resource road work.
Under the water and wastewater program, the Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement will receive approximately $1.36 million for water treatment plant upgrades.
Girouxville is granted $203,250 for wastewater treatment facility improvements, McLennan $56,250 for a water treatment plant study, and Mackenzie County $198,000 for raw water reservoir upgrades.
These investments aim to enhance infrastructure and support the growth and prosperity of rural communities in the Peace Region.
