Peace Regional RCMP have taken carriage of the fire that happened yesterday morning, near Peace River High School.
Authorities are continuing the investigation, as the fire is being treated as suspected arson.
Police in Peace River have provided updates and additional footage of the Break, Enter and Theft in Simon Lake last week.
Even though the weather has cooled down in the Northwest, one fire still continues to be stubborn.
The large fire southeast of Red Earth Creek is back to being Out-of-Control at 84,500 hectares in size.
Environment Canada is predicting a dry Autumn, which is great news for everyone, except in the Agriculture industry. (Alysa Pederson interview in separate story)
The Peace River School Division Board received information regarding the amendments to the Grimshaw Shared Facilities Joint Use Agreement, as well as the new Joint Use Planning Agreement for Peace River.
The Board also is sending a Letter of Support to the Town of Fairview and MD of Fairview’s Alberta Community Partnership grant application to establish a Community Facilities and Recreation Strategy.

Drayton Valley is in Peace River tomorrow, 1:00 at Glenmary School.
NWJHL this weekend… Grande Prairie is in Fairview, La Crete is in Dawson Creek, and FSJ is in Sexsmith tonight.
FSJ is in Peace River, La Crete is in Grande Prairie, and Sexsmith is in Beaverlodge tomorrow. La Crete is in Beaverlodge on Sunday.
AJHL this weekend… The Grande Prairie Storm play tonight and tomorrow in Camrose.
CFL this weekend… Calgary is in Montreal and Toronto is in BC tonight. Hamilton is in Winnipeg, and Saskatchewan is in Edmonton tomorrow.
MLB… The Toronto Blue Jays start their final regular season series tonight at home to Tampa Bay. The Jays need a sweep to win the Division.

Sunshine is happening for the balance of this weekend in the Northwest.
Highs during the day are in the mid teens, with lows at night being around 5, except for near freezing in the Peace and Mackenzie on Saturday night.
It could get a little wet come the beginning of next week.
