- Residents and stakeholders in Fairview are rallying against the closing of the Northwestern Polytechnic campus in town.
Organizers have launched a grassroots letter-writing campaign under the banner “Save NWP Fairview Campus”, calling on area residents and businesses to take an active role in the fight. - Possible changes to the electoral boundaries for the next provincial election have been brought up in the legislature.
Lesser Slave Lake MLA Scott Sinclair has been vocal about the possible riding changes in the North and recently spoke about that during question period. (Clips in separate story) - With the state of the economy right now, more people are becoming more aware of scams popping up, even in the Agriculture Industry.
Northern Sunrise County is doing their part by presenting a Scam Alert presentation on Tuesday at the Culture Center in St. Isadore. (Amber Houle Interview in separate story) - Some pharmacists say they’ve started waitlists for private COVID-19 vaccines because they can’t get their hands on stock as frustrated Albertans turn to them for the shots.
The government-run program is only offering COVID shots at public health clinics. Some high-risk groups are eligible to get the shot for free, while the vast majority of people must pay $100. - Four games in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in St. Louis, Vancouver is in Nashville, Toronto is in Pittsburgh, and Chicago is in Seattle.
 - Baseball’s off-season is officially underway. The big name in free agency for the Toronto Blue Jays is Bo Bichette, who made $16.5 million dollars in 2025.
The question marks are Max Scherzer, who is 41 and Shane Bieber, who has a player option, or can be bought out by the Cleveland Guardians.
Bieber came to the Jays at the Trade deadline in 2025. - The NFL Monday-nighter is Arizona in Dallas. The Cardinals are 2-5, the Cowboys are 3-4.
 - Sunshine is the order of the day for the next 72 hours in the Northwest. Temps are decent today, but will cool down to zero, if not below later on.
Lows tonight will also cool down, especially Tuesday night. Snow and/or rain will be happening later this week.
