- The union representing Alberta teachers has launched a legal challenge of the provincial government’s back-to-work legislation.
The Alberta Teachers’ Association filed an injunction yesterday, asking a judge to immediately pause Bill 2 until a full constitutional challenge is heard. - Roads are still quite icy, after Thursday morning’s snowfall.
With the temperature being in that transition period of being maybe above zero during the day, and below zero at night, extra caution still needs to be undertaken. - Food Banks around the region are beginning to prepare to take orders for Christmas Hampers, in addition to the influx of clientel.
Food Bank patron numbers are up tremendously, and officials are anticipating a very busy holiday season. - Indigenous Veteran’s Day is happening tomorrow and there is some events happening for that.
In Peace River, there will be a ceremony starting at 10:45 at the Treaty 8 Monument.
The Day is also being marked in High Prairie, starting at 1pm with a flag raising at the Town Office. - With the days getting shorter and colder, authorities are reminding residents in the Northwest of the importance of not being a statistic on-line.
